What is NightDoor Post?
NightDoor Post is a monthly story delivered by mail. Each edition opens the door to a tale drawn from folklore, myth, legend, or fairy tale, thoughtfully reimagined and accompanied by illustration, a recipe inspired by the story or its setting, a personal reflection, and a small story-inspired surprise.
What will I receive each month?
Each NightDoor is created around a different story, so no two editions will be quite the same. You can expect the story itself, beautiful illustration, a related recipe, a short reflection, and a small surprise inspired by that month's tale.
Will I know which story I'm getting?
That's part of the fun. We'll offer a glimpse of where the month's Door may lead, but the story itself remains a surprise until it reaches your mailbox.
When will my first NightDoor arrive?
NightDoor Post editions are mailed between the 21st and 25th of each month. Subscribe by the 15th to receive that month's Door. Orders placed after the 15th begin with the following month's edition.
How does the Monthly subscription work?
The Monthly subscription is $12 per month. You'll be charged when you subscribe and then monthly until you cancel.
How does the Annual subscription work?
The Annual subscription is $120 prepaid and includes 12 consecutive monthly editions—the equivalent of getting two months free. It is a one-time purchase and does not automatically renew.
Can I give NightDoor Post as a gift?
Yes. You can send NightDoor to someone special and include a gift message. Annual gifts include 12 monthly deliveries and do not automatically renew. Monthly gift subscriptions continue until canceled by the purchaser.
Is NightDoor Post for adults or children?
NightDoor is for anyone who still loves being told a good story. Adults can enjoy it on their own, and families may enjoy reading the stories together. Traditional folklore can sometimes include danger, loss, frightening situations, or other themes found in classic tales, so parents should use their judgment for younger readers.
Where do the stories come from?
NightDoor draws from folklore, fairy tales, myths, and legends from around the world. Stories are thoughtfully adapted from public-domain source material while preserving the heart of the original tale.
Is shipping included?
Yes. Standard U.S. shipping is included in the price of your NightDoor subscription.
Can I cancel my Monthly subscription?
Yes. Monthly subscriptions can be canceled before your next renewal. Your subscription will remain active for any edition you've already paid for.
Can I cancel an Annual subscription?
Annual subscriptions are prepaid for 12 monthly editions and do not automatically renew. Because the full year is purchased in advance, cancellation does not stop or refund the remaining scheduled editions.
What if my NightDoor is lost or arrives damaged?
If your NightDoor doesn't arrive or reaches you damaged, contact us at hello@nightdoorpost.com and we'll help make it right.
